As I was trying to find out if LED lights are more efficient and why, I came upon some interesting facts not only about LED lights but the past of Christmas Tree Lights… interesting…
And yes, LED lights which stands for light-emitting diode, are more energy efficient. We can get very technical but… I’m concerned with energy saving. Since I use lots and lots of Christmas lights outdoors its nice to know that LED Outdoor Christmas lights are in fact not only saving me money, but using less electricity as well.
LED technology has come a long way in the past three years. LED technology is used in brake lights, remotes, electric clocks, calculators, traffic lights and many other devices that we use everyday.
Interestingly enough, the first electrically lighted Christmas Tree was introduced in 1882 by an associate of Thomas Edison, Edward Johnson. The first lighted Christmas tree was introduced just three years after electricity was invented by Thomas Edison. The tree was in the parlor of Johnson’s New York City home, located in the first section of that city to be wired for electricity and consisted of walnut size bulbs on a rotating base.
Compared to traditional Christmas lights, LED lights give off a brighter, almost bluish light and come in different sizes, shapes and colors. The many different shapes of LED Christmas lights give you more options of how you want to decorate for Christmas. LED lights are available for indoor or outdoor use. So you will not only be conserving energy, saving on your electric bill but have much more variety in decorating than tradition outdoor lights.
